Custom Activewear Manufacturing FAQ — What Buyers Ask Before the First Order

These answers come from real buyer emails: MOQ math, sample fees, what happens when fabric runs late, who pays when QC finds a fault. Read them before you commit — then ask Anna the one we didn’t cover.

Getting Started

Ordering & Minimum Order Quantity

How orders start and what it takes to place your first run.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
Our standard MOQ is 100 pieces per SKU for cut-and-sew production. Sizes XS–XXL are split inside that 100 — you are not charged a separate minimum per size. For a first private-label run, the practical entry point is around 100 pieces per style and colorway.
I'm a new brand placing my first order. Where do I start?
Send a reference — a tech-pack, a sketch, or even a sample garment you want matched. We confirm fabric, fit, and pricing, then produce one sample for your approval before any bulk commitment. Most first-time founders go from inquiry to approved sample in about two to three weeks.
Do I need a tech-pack to order?
No. If you don't have one, our pattern and tech-pack service builds the pattern, size grading, and full tech-pack from your sketch or reference garment — so first-time brands aren't blocked at the starting line.
What does pattern and tech-pack development cost?
Pattern development is USD 220 per pattern and typically takes 7–14 days, handled by a 16-person in-house pattern team. The deliverable is a production-ready pattern plus size grading from XS through 5XL (pattern grading capability; production size split remains XS–XXL within the 100-piece MOQ) and a complete tech-pack you own. Revisions are USD 40 per round. Usable with us or anywhere else.
Before Bulk

Samples & Pre-Production

See and feel the product before you commit to bulk.

Can I order a single sample before committing to bulk?
Yes. We make samples one piece at a time. The sample fee starts at USD 45 per piece and is quoted by design complexity.
How long does sampling take?
About 5 working days when the fabric is in stock, and around 12 working days when the fabric has to be knitted or dyed to order.
Is the sample fee credited toward bulk?
Yes — the USD 45 per-piece sample fee is waived (credited back in full) when the order proceeds to bulk production. The fee covers material, pattern, and labor for a one-off piece; if you ultimately don't proceed to bulk, the cost stays with you.

Capacity & Timing

Production & Lead Time

Capacity, timing, and how reliably we ship.

What is your production lead time?
Bulk production runs 35–42 days for standard OEM orders on stock or readily available fabric, and 48–58 days when the order requires custom fabric development. ODM orders built from our pattern library run 30–40 days. Lead time starts after sample approval and deposit.
What is your production capacity?
12 production lines turn out about 380,000 pieces per month, with a single purchase order typically running 50,000–100,000 pieces — so growing brands don't outgrow us.
How reliable are your shipping dates?
Our rolling 12-month on-time delivery rate is 92.4%. Production milestones are shared during your order so you can plan launches and restocks with confidence.
Our team uniforms have a hard season deadline. Can you guarantee it?
Team orders run on a dedicated track of 18–25 days across three team-set lines, with names, numbers and crests driven directly from your roster CSV. Daily scheduling gives the earliest ship date priority on the floor — tell us your kickoff date and we quote backwards from it before accepting the order.
Make It Yours

Customization, Printing & Branding

From a blank canvas to a fully branded garment.

What printing and decoration methods do you offer?
Sublimation, DTG (direct-to-garment), silicone print, 3D embossed print, embroidery, and heat-transfer. We match the method to the fabric and the design rather than forcing one process on everything.
Can you produce fully custom designs, or only modify existing styles?
Both. OEM cut-and-sew builds entirely from your design and spec. ODM lets you start from one of our proven patterns and change color, logo, fabric, or trims to reach the market faster.
Do you offer private-label and custom branding?
Yes. Private label covers your woven labels, care labels, hangtags, and packaging, so finished goods arrive fully branded as yours.
Can you customize team uniforms with names and numbers?
Yes. Our team-customization line handles per-player names, numbers, and crests, with MOQs sized for clubs and squads rather than large brands.
Standards

Quality & Compliance

Inspection standards and the certificates we share.

How do you control quality?
Every order is inspected pre-shipment to AQL 2.5, supported by an in-house QC team and lab technicians. Our rolling 12-month pass rate is 98.5%.
How do you prevent color fading and batch-to-batch color drift?
Two controls. Colorfastness is lab-tested to ISO 105 wash and rub methods before any lot is cut. For consistency, incoming fabric is measured against your approved lab dip with a spectrophotometer within 4 hours of arrival — any roll drifting past ΔE 1.0 is rejected and returned to the mill, so reorders months apart still match.
What certifications do you hold?
OEKO-TEX Standard 100, BSCI, WRAP Gold, GRS (Global Recycled Standard), and Higg FEM. Certificate copies and audit reports are shared during the RFQ stage.
Can you work with recycled or sustainable fabrics?
Yes. We are GRS-certified and regularly run recycled polyester and other sustainable knits — share your fabric target and we'll confirm options and pricing.
Commercial Terms

Pricing, Payment & Shipping

How quotes are built and how orders move.

How is pricing determined?
Pricing depends on fabric, construction, decoration method, and order quantity — larger runs lower the per-piece cost. You receive an itemized quotation after we review your tech-pack or reference.
What are your payment terms?
Most orders run on a deposit-against-production, balance-before-shipment structure. Exact terms appear on your quotation and depend on order size and order history.
Which markets do you ship to?
We ship worldwide. Today our output goes to North America (42%), Europe (28%), Australia and New Zealand (14%), the Middle East (10%), and Latin America (6%). We arrange sea, air, and courier freight to suit your timeline and budget.
How do I get a quote?
Send your tech-pack, target quantities, and any reference images through the contact page — you'll hear back within 24 hours.
